manager Michael Appleton is likely to make changes to his starting line-up.

Appleton was angry at the way his Pompey team began their match against Doncaster on Saturday, hauling off Kelvin Etuhu in the first half and Luke Varney at the break to help inspire his players to come from behind to win 4-3.

The south-coast club remain seven points from safety with three games left to play and Appleton could well hand starts to Dave Kitson and Ashley Harris as they look to somehow avoid the drop to League One.

Tal Ben Haim remains on the sidelines with a calf injury, while veteran striker Kanu is unlikely to play a part despite returning to training after a back problem.

Aaron Mokoena returned from injury to sit on the bench at Doncaster and will be pushing for a start.

Crystal Palace midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi is doubtful due to a thigh injury.

The South Africa international was forced out of the weekend home draw with Ipswich during the first half and replaced by Owen Garvan.

Manager Dougie Freedman has no other new injury or suspension problems, but midfielders Mile Jedinak (groin) and Jonathan Williams, plus defender Anthony Gardner (both hamstring) are all out for the remaining three games of the season.

Jonathan Parr and Kyle De Silva are pushing for places in the starting line-up after stepping off the bench against Ipswich, while fellow midfielder Stuart O'Keefe is hoping to keep his place.

Strikers Glenn Murray and Jermaine Easter could return to contention after missing out altogether in the last two matches
