Peterborough will be without influential defender Gabriel Zakuani.

Zakuani was forced off early in the second half of the 4-1 defeat at Leeds on Saturday with a shoulder injury and the problem is set to rule him out of the remaining three games of the season.

Craig Alcock could once again be asked to fill in at centre-half in Zakuani's absence with Mark Little likely to be recalled at full-back.

Midfielder Daniel Kearns and forwards Lee Tomlin and David Ball will also hope to come back into manager Darren Ferguson's thinking.

Posh will once again check on Emile Sinclair after the striker missed out at Leeds with the ankle injury that forced him off during the previous match against Nottingham Forest.

Southampton will be without Morgan Schneiderlin for the trip.

The French midfielder has missed Saints' last two matches with a knee injury sustained during the 2-2 derby day draw with Portsmouth and will not be available to manager Nigel Adkins at London Road.

Adkins will also have to deal with the ongoing absence of strikers Tadanari Lee, who has an ankle problem, and David Connolly.

Steve De Ridder impressed after coming off the bench during the 3-1 home defeat to new leaders Reading on Friday and the winger is pushing for a recall to the starting XI.

Fit-again defenders Dan Seabourne (head) and Radhi Jaidi (knee) are also looking for returns to the matchday squad after spells on the sidelines.
